A AllyCAD Case Study
Camdekon Consulting carried out a feasibility study for water supply in the Insika Yethu Municipal area, where most residents relied on rivers, springs, and open dams for daily water. The challenge was to plan a practical domestic water network across a large rural region with limited infrastructure, difficult terrain, and varying water access, using tools such as AllyCAD for the scheme and supply network drawings.
Camdekon Consulting used AllyCAD to produce the water scheme and supply network drawings efficiently, alongside GIS mapping, groundwater exploration, and environmental impact assessment work. The study identified viable boreholes, well fields, dams, and springs, and concluded that groundwater schemes were more cost-effective than surface water systems; the estimated development cost was R220 million, with improved water access expected to benefit residents and create jobs.
