Aurecon Consulting Engineers faced the challenge of designing a 40-kilometre access road and stormwater drainage for the Karoo Array Telescope (meerKAT) project in South Africa’s remote Northern Cape. Working in a sparsely populated area with difficult drainage conditions, limited water, scarce materials, and many stakeholders, the team used AllyCAD and Civil Designer to support road design, check anomalies, and produce sheet files efficiently.

AllyCAD helped Aurecon complete the project to high standards while saving hours of time during design and documentation. The software supported the team in coordinating a complex multi-party venture and overcoming environmental and logistical constraints, contributing to successful project delivery within the allotted timeframe.
