Qunar, a leading travel search engine in China, faced the challenge of meeting the strict low latency and high stability requirements for its business-critical, real-time data analytics jobs. To improve the performance of its stream processing platform, which analyzes 6 billion log entries daily, Qunar implemented Alluxio, a memory speed virtual distributed storage system.

By deploying Alluxio as a storage management layer, Qunar achieved a massive performance improvement. The solution provided a 15x speedup on average and a 300x speedup during peak service times. Alluxio also enabled different applications to easily interact with data through its unified namespace, resulting in more accurate real-time user recommendations.
