VOO Extends Infrastructure Capacity via Congestion Management and DDoS Protection

VOO, a leading broadband cable service provider in southern Belgium, was facing frequent and unpredictable network congestion as its subscriber base grew. The company also lacked the visibility needed to confirm whether P2P traffic was the cause of the bottlenecks, and repeated capacity expansions were proving too costly and short-lived. To address these issues, VOO turned to Allot’s Service Gateway Tera and congestion management capabilities.

With Allot, VOO gained granular traffic visibility at the CMTS channel and bonding-group level, allowing it to identify P2P traffic as the main source of congestion and enforce real-time QoS policies. VOO also deployed Allot DDoS Secure, which revealed and mitigated repeated DDoS attacks, freeing up bandwidth and eliminating outages. As a result, Allot helped VOO reduce congested bonding groups from 10% to 1%, delay infrastructure expansion by 2 years, and save millions while improving overall QoE and network performance.
