Comprehensive, Rapid and Cost-Effective Network Protection Against Escalating DDoS Attacks

Tier-1 Cable, Internet and Telephony Provider, a Tier-1 CSP/ISP serving residential, corporate, and SME customers in Central America, faced a massive DDoS attack involving SYN, TOS, and Ping floods. Its existing mitigation solution from Radware was not enough to handle the scale of the attack, and the operator needed stronger protection to prevent service degradation and protect network resources. The provider was already an Allot customer using Service Gateways for traffic visibility and QoS.

Allot implemented DDoS Secure on the customer’s existing Allot Service Gateway Tera platform, enabling real-time detection, reporting, mitigation, and bot containment without requiring a separate infrastructure upgrade. The solution was trialed successfully and supported by Allot’s Emergency Response Team, giving the customer a more scalable, cost-effective, and unified security platform. As a result, the provider gained better visibility into attacks, improved protection against large-scale volumetric threats, and avoided additional hardware costs by activating licenses on existing equipment.
