The trust’s challenge was to reduce reliance on temporary staffing, meet ambitious cost-avoidance targets, and better align medical rotas with clinical activity while maintaining patient care and KPI performance.

With Allocate Software, the trust reviewed and redesigned medical rotas and job plans, uncovering unaccounted hours and inefficiencies. This led to an additional junior doctor in A&E every day and six extra clinical PAs per week for middle grades in Ophthalmology, helping reduce waiting times, support training, and improve patient outcomes.
