Grand Rounds, a healthcare company that connects customers to local and remote doctors, was struggling to forecast future customer needs and plan staffing at a detailed customer level. Working from Excel and a rolling forecast made it difficult to anticipate demand, which led to either understaffing or overstaffing and limited their ability to scale with growth. Allitix was brought in to help with their planning and analytics challenges using Anaplan.
Allitix implemented an Anaplan-based planning solution that let Grand Rounds model existing customer and product demand and create “sister customers” as a baseline for new business. The new process gave them bottom-up and top-down visibility into service demand, improved resource allocation, and replaced a 3-month forecast horizon with multi-year forecasting. Allitix also reduced the monthly forecasting cycle from a full-time manual effort to just 2 days, improving accuracy and freeing time for planning and execution.
