The University of Hyderabad in India selects an Allied Telesis resilient and powerful solution for its network upgrade

The University of Hyderabad in India needed to replace a piecemeal campus network that had become slow, unreliable, hard to manage, and insecure as demand grew. Allied Telesis was chosen to deliver a resilient, scalable upgrade for the university’s campus-wide network, including core, distribution, edge switching, and centralized management.

Allied Telesis implemented a high-availability design built around a SwitchBlade x8112 core, SwitchBlade x908 and x900 distribution switches in EPSR rings and VCStacks, DC2552XS server connectivity, AT-8000GS stacked edge switches, and AlliedWare Plus with centralized NMS. The new network delivered 10GbE backbone performance, no single point of failure, faster recovery in as little as 50 ms, improved security and IPv6 readiness, while supporting an initial deployment of more than 250 switches with another 300 planned for phase two.
