A Allied Telesis Case Study
The 18th Asian Games, held in Jakarta and Palembang, needed a highly secure and reliable network for a massive international sporting event involving more than 16,000 athletes and thousands of staff, spectators, and organizers across 80 venues. Working with NEC Indonesia, Allied Telesis was selected to provide the ICT security network, including switches, wireless access points, a unified wireless controller, and media/rate converters to support video surveillance and connectivity.
Allied Telesis implemented a resilient network core with x510 stackable Gigabit switches using VCStack and dual power supplies, connected to PoE edge switches for surveillance cameras, plus enterprise wireless APs and centralized wireless management for seamless coverage. The network was completed on a tight schedule, went live successfully on opening day, and delivered flawless wireless access and secure surveillance with no reported issues; the Games also saw 6 world, 18 Asian, and 86 Asian Games records broken.
