A Allied Telesis Case Study
Osaka Red Cross Hospital, a 1,000-bed regional medical center in Osaka, was struggling with unreliable, uneven-performing network infrastructure across its HIS environment, where many departmental systems shared the same network. The hospital also needed to support a new electronic patient record system with real-time wireless access at the bedside, while preparing to integrate PACS imaging systems. Allied Telesis was selected to help address these challenges.
Allied Telesis rebuilt the hospital network with SwitchBlade x908 core switches, x610 and x210 series switches, VCStack for high availability, AlliedView NMS for centralized management, iBAQS for authentication security, and Extricom and TQ wireless access points for seamless mobility. The result was a stable, high-performance network with uninterrupted access and easier management; staff reported no complaints after the new network went live, and nurses could update patient records in real time during rounds and checks.
