Robust Surveillance and Disaster Prevention for Mori Building

Mori Building Co., the developer and operator of Roppongi Hills in Tokyo, needed a highly reliable surveillance network to support safety, security, and disaster prevention across a large mixed-use urban complex visited by millions of people each year. The challenge was to transport continuous high-definition video from about 600 ITV cameras in the Mori Tower alone over a dedicated gigabit network to the disaster control center, while maintaining high availability, bandwidth, and simple maintenance. Allied Telesis provided its x900 Series advanced Layer 3 switches for the surveillance system infrastructure.

Allied Telesis implemented three AT-x900-24XT core switches connected to the camera edge switches with link aggregation to add redundancy and higher bandwidth, helping future-proof the network for higher-data cameras. The x900 Series’ VCStack capability also simplified management by making multiple switches appear as a single virtual chassis, improving operational ease and reliability. As a result, Mori Building Co. gained a robust, scalable surveillance network that supports 24/7 monitoring and strengthens the safety and security of Roppongi Hills.
