Preview of the Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre Case Study

Performance Boost for Busy Malaysian Medical Center

Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre, a brand new 300-bed hospital in Malaysia, needed a non-stop network to support high-speed access to patient records, medical imaging, and online services across its main facility and the Nilam College of Nursing and Allied Health Science. It chose Allied Telesis to deliver a future-proof, high-availability network with strong performance and easy management.

Allied Telesis implemented a solution based on SwitchBlade x908 chassis switches with VCStack, x610 Series switches, EPSR rings, and x210 and 8000GS access switches, connected with 10 Gigabit links and link aggregation. The design provided sub-50ms failover, no single point of failure, and reliable Gigabit-to-the-desktop connectivity, giving the medical centre fast, resilient access to data with lower power consumption and cost-effective operation.
