A Allied Telesis Case Study
Panasonic New Zealand Limited relocated to a new Auckland premises and used the move as an opportunity to replace its aging network. Panasonic needed a secure, high-availability, high-performance infrastructure to support enterprise data, wireless, IP telephony, video-conferencing, lighting control, and warehouse logistics, while also dealing with a large building and challenging wireless coverage in soundproofed meeting rooms. Allied Telesis was selected to meet these requirements with a comprehensive integrated network solution.
Allied Telesis implemented an x610-based core with VCStack redundancy, x510 distribution switches, AT-8000GS/POE edge switches, AT-TQ2450 wireless access points, and centralized wireless management, plus firewall and NAC capabilities. The result was a resilient, segmented, unified network with a 10 Gigabit backbone, improved wireless coverage, and no single point of failure. Panasonic said the new LAN infrastructure was well structured and documented, and was designed to serve them through 2020, while Allied Telesis delivered a cost-effective solution with lower ongoing operating costs.
