Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre ensures 50ms failover with Allied Telesis

Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre, a new 300-bed hospital in Malaysia, needed to build a brand new, non-stop network to ensure high availability of medical data and high performance with zero downtime for its main facility and an on-site nursing college. They selected a network solution from Allied Telesis built around SwitchBlade x908 chassis switches, x610 Series switches, and Ethernet Protected Switching Ring (EPSR) technology.

Allied Telesis implemented a resilient network core using Virtual Chassis Stacking (VCStack) and connected the medical centre with three high-speed EPSR rings, providing sub-50ms failover. The solution delivered the required high performance and high availability, ensuring seamless access to critical patient records and imaging files. The customer also benefited from the solution's cost-effectiveness, low power consumption, and the valuable hands-on training and support provided by Allied Telesis.
