Network Automation Solution Future Proofs Television Station

Sendai Television Inc., a commercial television station in Japan, needed to replace an outdated network that was difficult to maintain, lacked centralized management, and had inadequate and insecure wireless coverage. The company also required high availability for critical broadcasting operations, including urgent news and earthquake reports, and wanted a solution that would be simple and cost-effective to run. Allied Telesis provided the network technology and management framework.

Allied Telesis implemented a new network built around a SwitchBlade x8112 core switch, x510 Series edge switches, AT-TQ2450 wireless access points, and Autonomous Management Framework (AMF) for centralized, automated management. After a three-month trial and the network’s launch in December 2014, Sendai Television reported seamless operation, no problems, expanded secure wireless coverage, and much easier administration. Allied Telesis helped deliver higher performance, strong reliability, and time savings through automation, while also supporting future expansion and maintenance.
