A Allied Telesis Case Study
National Institute of Technology Raipur, a Government of India-funded technical institute in India, needed to replace an aging campus network that could no longer deliver enough bandwidth, intelligent design, or resilience for its roughly 2,700 students. Allied Telesis was chosen to provide a future-ready, converged network that could support voice, video, and data, with no single point of failure and automated recovery, while also preparing the campus for SDN.
Allied Telesis implemented a three-tier campus network built around AMF, SwitchBlade x908 modular switches, VCStack, and EPSRing, with x510 Series switches at distribution and access. The result was a centrally managed, fully resilient network with automatic backup, zero-touch recovery, plug-and-play expansion, and failover in as little as 50 ms, including 160 Gbps dynamic failover at the core. Allied Telesis delivered the project on time, reduced administration effort and cost, and left NIT Raipur ready for future services such as unified communications, video streaming, and IP TV.
