A Allied Telesis Case Study
Naka City in Japan needed to modernize and strengthen the security of its city-wide network for schools, government offices, and public buildings after government security guidelines tightened following a major data breach. The city wanted a solution that could better detect malicious behavior, isolate threats quickly, and still be easy to manage and economical to run. Allied Telesis was chosen to help address these needs with its Secure Enterprise SDN (SES) and Autonomous Management Framework (AMF).
Allied Telesis, working through Osaki Computer Engineering, deployed a resilient network built around a SwitchBlade x8100 core switch, x510 edge switches, TQ4600 wireless access points, and Trend Micro Deep Discovery Inspector for behavior detection. AMF enabled centralized, remote management and simplified maintenance, while SES automatically isolated suspected devices to prevent threats from spreading. The network was rolled out across 39 locations in two weeks and commissioned after a one-week trial, reducing administration effort, man-hours, and maintenance costs while improving security and operational reliability.
