A Allied Telesis Case Study
Maspro Denkoh Corp., Japan’s leading manufacturer of television antennas, needed to modernize the network at its head office, plant, and distribution center to improve resilience and ensure fast recovery from failures. The company also wanted to address unstable wireless communications in its warehouse and office areas, especially as handheld terminals and changing warehouse layouts were affecting connectivity. Allied Telesis provided switching and wireless products, including SwitchBlade x8100 and x510 Series switches, TQ4600 access points, and later a hybrid wireless design.
Allied Telesis implemented a high-performance hybrid wireless system using AWC and TQ5403 Hybrid 3-radio APs, with AWC-CB for seamless roaming in the warehouse and multi-channel AWC for high-capacity office areas. Vista Manager EX was added for centralized monitoring and simpler management of the wired and wireless network. The result was a smooth, interruption-free wireless environment with no complaints from staff, better support for handheld terminals, and lower administrative burden through automation and single-pane-of-glass visibility.
