A Allied Telesis Case Study
Kashima Oil Co., Ltd., a mineral oil refinery in Japan, needed to upgrade its network while building a new office and ensuring the complex’s critical shipping, data, phone, and equipment control systems could operate nonstop. Because its onshore shipping facility runs 24/7, the company required a highly resilient network with sub-second failover and easier management. Allied Telesis was selected as the technology provider.
Allied Telesis implemented a ring-style network linking four sites with EPSRing and using VCStack at the core and distribution layers, plus SH510 switches at the edge. The company also deployed Allied Telesis Autonomous Management Framework (AMF) for centralized, automated management, backup, and recovery. Since May 2016, Kashima Oil has benefited from near-instant recovery from link or device failures, always-on access to applications and shipping information, and reduced administration time and cost through automation.
