Kansai University streamlines 35,000-student campus networking with Allied Telesis

Kansai University, a major educational institution in Japan with over 35,000 students, faced challenges with the network at its Takatsuki Campus. The network lacked centralized management, integrated user authentication, and did not meet requirements for speed, reliability, or cost-effectiveness. The university worked with vendor Allied Telesis to implement a new streamlined network solution.

Allied Telesis deployed its Autonomous Management Framework (AMF) alongside SwitchBlade and x Series switches, which provided automated, centralized control and integrated tri-authentication for security. The new network was installed quickly during a summer break and met all expectations for reliability. The AMF solution significantly reduced management man-hours through centralized configuration and easy, zero-touch provisioning of new devices. Allied Telesis provided excellent support, and the university plans further collaborations with the vendor.
