The Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT), a tertiary education provider in New Zealand, required a network upgrade to handle increasing demands for voice, video, and data from modern digital resources and BYOD policies. A long-time customer, EIT partnered with vendor Allied Telesis to build a new high-availability infrastructure with minimal downtime to support its campuses and learning centers.

Allied Telesis implemented a solution using two SwitchBlade x908 Gen2 switches at the network core, connected with Virtual Chassis Stacking, and x510 Series switches at the edge. This created a resilient, high-capacity network with no single point of failure. The upgrade was completed seamlessly within a single night with zero downtime.
