A Allied Telesis Case Study
The City Government of Tamba in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan needed a better way to manage and secure its wide-area government network across more than 100 facilities, including offices and schools. Its older network equipment was difficult to maintain, outages were disruptive, and there were no dedicated monitoring tools to quickly isolate failures or prevent security issues. Allied Telesis provided a centralized networking and security approach using AMF and AMF-Sec.
Allied Telesis replaced the legacy equipment with devices centrally managed by AMF, enabling simplified administration, zero-touch recovery, and faster restoration by non-specialist staff. The Tamba City Board of Education also deployed AMF-Sec to automatically respond to cyber threats and quarantine suspect devices, while Vista Manager EX gave staff clear visibility into the entire network. As a result, Tamba City improved operational efficiency, strengthened protection for government and school data, and reported no further suspicious behavior after implementation.
