Case Study: AGC Inc. achieves seamless Wi‑Fi and streamlined network management with Allied Telesis

A Allied Telesis Case Study

Preview of the AGC Inc. Case Study

Allied Telesis improves efficiency and reduces operational costs for AGC Inc.’s Sagamihara plant

AGC Inc., the world’s largest glass manufacturer, needed a way to centrally manage a fragmented production network across three buildings at its Sagamihara plant and to better use growing production data for IoT and real-time monitoring. Allied Telesis was chosen for its Autonomous Management Framework (AMF) and Autonomous Wave Controller (AWC), which promised automatic recovery, simpler administration, and reliable wireless connectivity.

Allied Telesis built a new integrated wired and wireless network using AMF for centralized control and recovery, AWC for self-tuning Wi‑Fi, and Vista Manager EX for single-pane-of-glass monitoring. The result was a highly reliable network with seamless roaming, easier management of wired and wireless LANs, improved data capture on production lines, reduced operational burden, and lower costs, helping AGC Inc. maintain maximum uptime and efficiency.
