A Alliant Case Study
The collectibles company, a retailer with a large inventory of rare coins and currency, sought to partner with vendor Alliant to identify and reactivate its inactive customer base through direct mail. The challenge was a cost savings priority, focusing on customers who had been inactive for 12 to 48 months.
Alliant implemented a custom optimization model to analyze the customer file and predict the most likely responders. The solution involved segmenting the list into 20 groups based on their likelihood to respond. The results were significant, as the actual order rates for the mailed segments exceeded the expected 2% rate by two to five times, with one segment achieving a 10.83% order rate.
