Science News launches 3 interconnected sites with Alley and drives best subscriber acquisition since spring

Science News, a long-standing science journalism publication, was struggling with an inefficient and expensive Drupal CMS that created workflow challenges and failed to meet the needs of its two sibling sites, Science News for Students and Science News in High Schools. They partnered with Alley to design and re-platform their three interconnected sites, requiring a solution with deep news publishing expertise.

Alley migrated the sites to WordPress, modernizing the design and establishing efficient workflows, including a shared media library. The solution resulted in a smooth launch, immediate positive feedback, and significantly improved subscriber acquisition numbers. The project was recognized with a Folio Magazine Ozzie Award for Best Consumer Website Redesign. Alley continues to work with Science News on additional properties.
