A new approach to Employee Benefits at Protolabs

Protolabs, an online platform for custom part production, faced a challenge in managing its fragmented employee benefits program. With a diverse workforce having unique needs, the administration of various options and reimbursements became complex and inefficient for People Operations Lead Ellen Groot. To address this lack of coherence, Protolabs chose to implement the flexible benefits platform from the vendor Alleo.

By implementing Alleo, Protolabs provided a central platform for employees to easily access and choose from a wide range of benefits. This solution streamlined administrative processes for the People Operations and Finance teams and led to a noticeable increase in employee engagement, with about half of the workforce actively using the app. Alleo helped Protolabs improve employee satisfaction, foster a more supportive work environment, and reinforce its reputation as an attractive employer.
