Solidal, a leading power cable manufacturer in Portugal, was struggling with an overleveraged balance sheet, a bloated cost structure, and a severe liquidity crisis that halted production in 2018. AlixPartners developed new sales and operations planning processes, improved supply chain procedures, and helped reimplement the SAP ERP system so orders and materials could be tracked more effectively. The results were dramatic: production restarted, delayed orders were cleared, revenues rose from €32.6m in 2018 to €81.4m in 2019, debt fell from €43.6m to €19.5m, and the order backlog returned to historic highs.
