AlixPartners worked with a PE Firm that was considering acquiring a distressed, bankrupt direct-to-distributor food business. The company was suffering from rising costs, operational inefficiencies, weak pricing, and flat revenue growth, which had severely दबressed margins and EBITDA.
Using operational due diligence, pre-close planning, and a whole-company transformation program, AlixPartners identified and implemented more than 40 improvement initiatives across pricing, purchasing, operations, and SG&A. The effort delivered nearly $11 million in annual EBITDA improvement within seven months of acquisition and helped the PE Firm achieve two highly profitable exits five years later, with the business ultimately selling for roughly 75% more than the purchase price.
