Verizon faced an expedited challenge when the sale of their data center in Waltham, MA, required them to migrate over 1,200 devices to a new facility in Boston within a strict 4–5 month timeline due to a pending lease termination. To meet this complex and time-sensitive challenge, Verizon engaged Align for its data center migration services, leveraging the vendor's prior successful experience with a similar project.

Align worked directly with the owners of twelve individual data centers within the facility to collect accurate inventories and plan the migration. This collaboration allowed them to establish clear project governance and a master migration plan. As a result, Align successfully migrated 1,134 devices over four months with minimal downtime and risk. Verizon was able to decommission the old facility on time and is now operating at full capacity in their new Boston data center.
