WolvertonBailey - Customer Case Study

WolvertonBailey, Inc. turned a visionary concept—the Counterpoise Bi‑Radial Engine, the first combustion engine to earn a U.S. patent in 30 years—into a development project. Founder Del Wolverton needed an affordable, easy-to-learn 3D CAD tool to translate sketches and critical formulas into detailed, validation-ready models, so WolvertonBailey chose Alibre and its Alibre Design software to meet that challenge.

Using Alibre Design and Alibre’s support, WolvertonBailey built spreadsheet-driven, parametric models, produced videos and marketing images, and moved from idea to a validation-ready model in seven months. The effort helped secure funding and commercial interest—including contracts and university and industry talks—and delivered a patented engine design that promises nearly twice the power of a standard V8 with half the pistons, accomplishments enabled by Alibre’s tools and support.
