Linn Audio - Customer Case Study

Linn Audio, a New Hampshire custom loudspeaker builder, needed to turn a unique “asymmetric hexagon” cabinet concept and exacting zero‑distortion audio goals into manufacturable parts that traditional hand tools couldn’t produce. To design and prepare CNC‑ready files for its Reference Granite system — towering 7‑foot speakers with 1,000 W max power and roughly 450 lb per channel — Linn adopted Alibre’s software suite, using Alibre Design (and Alibre CAM Standard) to move from rough sketches to precise models.

Using Alibre Design, Linn created detailed, dimensioned parts for multi‑layered Medite MDF panels, cross‑bracing and precision joinery that minimize resonance and preserve sonic transparency. Alibre enabled CNC production of the custom panels and repeatable, high‑precision assemblies, allowing Linn Audio to deliver its zero‑compromise Reference Granite speakers — massive, crystal‑clear systems with near‑elimination of distortion, custom finishes, and reproducible manufacturing quality.
