Cavey’s Clubs founder Matt Blake turned a hobby into a small business making custom guitars and basses, focused on distinctive semi-hollow designs with features like an integrated wooden pickguard. After struggling to learn the 3D module of his previous CAM software, he searched for an easier, affordable solution and adopted Alibre’s Alibre Design to model parts for CNC machining.

By modeling each instrument in Alibre Design and cutting components on his CNC, Blake eliminated much early-stage rework and ensured parts fit together precisely. With Alibre’s tools, Cavey’s Clubs has completed 15 custom guitars and basses, brought new models to a Nashville trade show, and achieved consistent, high-quality builds thanks to the improved design-to-machine workflow.
