Bad Dog Cycles - Customer Case Study

Bad Dog Cycles, driven by founder Bill Price, needed an affordable but powerful 3D CAD tool to design a massive V‑Twin air‑cooled motorcycle engine as his first major 3D model and to meet a contest deadline. Bill wanted a solid modeler he could learn quickly without the high cost of mainstream packages, so he chose Alibre and its Alibre Design software to tackle the project.

Alibre supplied a low‑cost, full‑featured solution—Alibre Design—with parametric modeling, design history/versioning, and responsive support that let Bill iterate rapidly and capture fine engine details. Using Alibre, he completed the engine, entered the 3D InterOp contest, and won third place ($1,000 from Spatial) plus first place recognition and a one‑year maintenance agreement from Alibre; the software also saved him significant cost (about one‑fifth the price of competing programs).
