Megix Industries Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian manufacturer of thermal paper rolls and computer forms, faced a challenge expanding beyond its local market. Although the company had been on Alibaba.com since 2000, it had not actively used the platform and was still relying almost entirely on domestic sales.
By reinvesting in its Alibaba.com presence with a mini site and more product listings, Megix Industries quickly attracted overseas demand. Alibaba.com helped drive the company’s export growth from nearly 0% to 40%–45% of total sales in just half a year, and the surge in orders even led Megix to add two more production lines and set up a factory closer to the export terminal.
