Royal Philips wanted to launch HealthSuite Digital Platform in China to support healthcare services for urbanization and population growth. To do that, it needed cloud computing, local technical service capabilities in China, and an IT infrastructure that could handle user requests for services such as the Philips Smart Air Purifier.

Alibaba Cloud provided IT infrastructure services for the platform in China, using Elastic Compute Service, Object Storage Service, ApsaraDB for RDS, and security services. The setup helped Philips quickly roll out healthcare services, focus on serving customers instead of building infrastructure, and support real-time connectivity for the smart air purifier across 2G, 3G, 4G, and Wi-Fi networks.
