The Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs developed Blue Map, a mobile app that shares environmental pollution information such as air quality, water quality, and local pollution sources across China. To publish data gathered from more than 20 platforms and solutions, the app needed a robust, scalable infrastructure to handle large volumes of data and heavy traffic, along with support to manage its backend. Alibaba Cloud provided the cloud services used for the project, including ECS, Anti-DDoS, ApsaraDB for RDS, CDN, and OSS.

With Alibaba Cloud, Blue Map used scalable ECS servers, security services, and 24/7 professional support to improve application manageability and protect against malicious attacks and illegal access. Alibaba Cloud also helped create a cloud architecture that monitored performance and supported real-time updates to mobile users. As a result, Blue Map could efficiently handle surging traffic and continue informing the public about environmental pollution, having already analyzed and informed over 450 companies to take corrective action.
