e-Chauffeur, China’s largest transportation service company, needed a scalable backend cloud infrastructure to support rapid growth, rising peak-hour demand, and zero-downtime service for its mobile browser-based chauffeur platform. The company also wanted to manage a business that already had more than 5 million registered users and more than 20,000 chauffeurs while preparing to expand into more than 100 cities.

Using Alibaba Cloud services including ECS, ApsaraDB for RDS, CloudMonitor, OSS, CDN, and Server Load Balancer, e-Chauffeur built a load-balanced, fault-tolerant architecture with caching and backup layers. Alibaba Cloud helped the company save tens of thousands of RMB in IT costs each year, and e-Chauffeur said it restored the entire service within 2 minutes during fault simulation drills without end users noticing a problem.
