Cloudaxis is a Hong Kong-based group of creative technologists focused on developing software and deploying it on cost-efficient cloud platforms. Its customers had concerns about public cloud security, and some were reluctant to use Alibaba Cloud because it is a Chinese company.

Cloudaxis turned to Alibaba Cloud after a customer needed a strong presence in Mainland China while still running services for the HK/Singapore market. Using Alibaba Cloud, Cloudaxis was able to propose a solution that worked both inside and outside Mainland China, supported by a setup with a VPC, Linux instance running Apache/Drupal, and a MySQL database. Cloudaxis said Alibaba Cloud provided a stable international platform and was stronger inside Mainland China than AWS.
