Case Study: Atlas achieves 45% lower cloud operating costs with Alibaba Cloud

A Alibaba Cloud Case Study

Atlas saves 45% in cloud operating costs with Alibaba Cloud

Atlas, a travel technology startup based in Singapore, faced significant challenges scaling its flight distribution platform. Their proprietary Air Travel Retailing and Information Platform (ATRIP) handles up to 800 million API calls daily and required a robust, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure to manage vast amounts of real-time data while meeting international compliance standards. Partnering with Alibaba Cloud, they sought to overcome these hurdles related to scalability, reliability, and operational cost.

By implementing a solution built on Alibaba Cloud's Container Service for Kubernetes (ACK), ApsaraDB RDS, Tair, and Object Storage Service, Atlas created a highly scalable and compliant platform. This architecture, supported by Server Load Balancer and Application Real-Time Monitoring Service (ARMS), ensured high availability and performance. As a result, Atlas saved 45% in operational expenses compared to other cloud providers, enabling them to expand their business to service over 50 global travel sellers and 150 airlines while achieving a 97% fare accuracy rate.
