BM&FBOVESPA Invests in Security Policy Management to Improves Operational Efficiencies

BM&FBOVESPA, the largest stock exchange in Latin America headquartered in São Paulo, operates an entirely electronic trading environment and relies on firewalls from multiple vendors to protect its systems. With roughly 40,000 firewall rules (and ~5,000 added annually), manual policy management was time-consuming, resource-intensive and strained appliance CPU/memory despite two full-time staff.

After a Compugraf recommendation, BM&FBOVESPA deployed AlgoSec’s Security Management solution, which unified multi-vendor rule management and provided full network visibility. AlgoSec is used daily to identify unused and noncompliant rules, cut a rule-review project from one month to one day, paid for itself within the first year, and freed team members to focus on higher-value security tasks while helping maintain a secure, compliant trading environment.
