StakerDAO is a decentralized platform for governing financial assets, building products for on-chain governance, cross-chain synthetics, and tokenized real-world assets. Its challenge was to create liquid, compliant, and secure digital asset products that let users access staking exposure and DeFi opportunities without traditional lockups, using Algorand’s blockchain infrastructure.

Algorand helped StakerDAO use the Algorand Standard Asset (ASA) functionality to launch products such as BLND and wALGO, a fully collateralized synthetic representation of ALGO. The solution enabled users to participate instantly in the Algorand, Tezos, and Cosmos ecosystems and gain exposure to both token price movements and staking rewards; wALGO was also designed to be liquid and usable across DeFi systems on Ethereum or Algorand.
