As WW redesigned its member experience, it faced a critical challenge: delivering a personalized, conversational food-tracking search that could handle massive, member-generated data sets and surface accurate results instantly across desktop and mobile.
WW partnered with Algolia, using Custom Ranking and behavioral personalization to surface the right items in as few as three keystrokes and refresh results in real time. The new search indexes millions of items in seconds, performs 100× faster than the previous solution, and returns 90% of queries in under 14 ms, and has since been extended to power features like Recipe Explorer and CRM search.
