Inflect + Algolia Modernizing the Buying of Infrastructure Products

Inflect is a global, neutral online marketplace that modernizes the buying and selling of internet infrastructure—making colocation, interconnection and network services easier to find and purchase than the current manual, vendor-by-vendor process. Because users need to search across many providers and rapidly compare options, Inflect required a fast, flexible client-side search solution that wouldn’t drain engineering time or force them to build and maintain complex indexing infrastructure.

Inflect implemented Algolia’s search-as-a-service via the lightweight algoliasearch package, adding features like instant autocomplete, geolocation-aware map queries, synonyms for M&A name changes, and configurable conjunctive/disjunctive filters. The result: dramatic speed and relevance (99th‑percentile autocomplete ~14 ms; most queries under ~50 ms), faster product iteration, better data-driven insights from zero-result tracking, and happier customers able to find the right infrastructure quickly.
