A Algolia Case Study
Damstahl A/S, a Skanderborg, Denmarkâbased stainless-steel wholesaler serving dairy, food processing, automotive and other industries, faced a slow, error-prone buying process as customers struggled to find the right fittings among more than 18,000 items. With rising digital competition, the company needed an ecommerce experience that made ordering easier than emailing or calling and that could scale across international markets.
In early 2021 Damstahl launched a composable, headless ecommerce platform built with Slize Digital Architecture and an API gateway, integrating Dynamics 365 ERP, Perfion PIM, Umbraco CMS, Algolia search, ActiveCampaign and a .Net/React front end. Features like flexible Algolia search, punchout ordering and analytics-driven personalization have sped order handling (sales reps process orders 60% faster), increased gross profit and market share, and produced more profitable web orders during the initial rollout to Scandinavia and three other markets, with plans for local versions across nine markets.
