RBC Capital Markets Modernizes Operations with the Alfresco Digital Business Platform

RBC Capital Markets, the investment-banking arm of the Royal Bank of Canada, needed to modernize the systems that support post-trade activities—confirmations, payments, tax provisioning and regulatory reporting. Faced with process‑intensive workflows, legacy platforms that were hard to maintain, and a need for faster development cycles and stronger controls, the bank sought a flexible, scalable solution to improve operational efficiency and compliance.

RBC adopted the Alfresco Digital Business Platform to combine process automation with rich content services and accelerate delivery using the Alfresco Application Development Framework and modern DevOps practices. Over three years the bank deployed 14 applications supporting 3,500 users, tightened controls, shortened turnaround times, created reusable components for faster onboarding, spurred wider adoption across the business, and expanded license capacity to support future growth.
