Pearson Partners with Ixxus and Selects Alfresco for Content Management and Collaboration

Pearson, a global leader in education operating in over 70 countries, engaged Ixxus as part of its Transforming Product Development (TPD) program to accelerate a shift from print to digital. The challenge was to replace siloed, print-centric editorial and production workflows—where rich media was often shared by email or physical media—with a centralized, scalable content-management and collaboration platform that supported complex, highly designed publications and distributed global teams.

Ixxus implemented an Alfresco One–based CMS integrated with Pearson’s existing systems and delivered specialist tools including a Digital Media Annotator for frame-level media review and an InDesign Design Hub to generate fixed-layout EPUBs. Delivered on time and on budget in four months, the solution automated workflows, enabled real-time global collaboration, centralized content for reuse, and trained users—resulting in lower production costs, faster time-to-market, improved auditability, standardized digital-first processes, and new opportunities for product and revenue growth.
