Mercy Health Systems, a partnership of over 400 healthcare providers serving 38,000 employees across the Midwest, needed to replace dozens of disparate intranets with a single “Baggot Street” employee portal and migrate all documents into one location. The organization also required rule-driven, configurable approval workflows so policies and forms could be routed to reviewers with final sign-off by department heads.

Mercy implemented a Drupal front end integrated with Alfresco as the enterprise content repository using Appnovation’s Canopy solution, custom CMIS APIs and REST web scripts, and Apache Solr for faceted search. The project synchronized over 50,000 documents, enabled uploads and rule-based approval workflows from Drupal into Alfresco, and delivered a unified, searchable portal with real-time sync, developer training, and ongoing support.
