A Alfresco Case Study

International bank improves construction project approval process with Hyland's Alfresco platform

BNP Paribas Fortis, the largest international bank in Belgium, needed a fast, open solution to manage all technical and design documents for its 100,000 sq. ft. Montagne du Parc headquarters project. The bank required strict access controls, versioning and formal, trackable approval workflows that would support both internal and external collaborators without being constrained by the bank’s internal security embedding requirements.

The bank selected Alfresco Content Services, deployed and managed by Xenit on a private cloud with disaster recovery and SLA-backed support, replacing a traditional filing system. Alfresco centralized metadata, versions, access rights and a contractually binding approval cycle; today more than 200 internal and external users manage over 10,000 documents in the platform, improving day-to-day collaboration and creating plans to extend the solution to future construction projects.
