A Alfresco Case Study
Elixir Technologies, a long-established provider of high-volume, content-centric customer communications software, needed to modernize its Tango product line by adding enterprise-grade document and web content management while moving from client-server to a browser-based architecture. The challenge was finding a stable, fully featured content management platform that could be integrated quickly by Elixir’s existing Java/XML development team without extensive third‑party consulting, and that would enable tight content/version control across all communication channels.
Elixir selected Alfresco Enterprise and entered an OEM partnership, embedding Alfresco’s repository, document/image management, and workflow capabilities into Tango. The integration took only a few months and let Elixir offer modular, zero‑footprint web applications that speed document creation and routing, enforce versioning and compliance, and broaden market appeal beyond technical departments to marketing, legal, and business users. As a result, Tango became the only fully web‑based client-communications solution with integrated content management, opening new vertical opportunities while maintaining support for legacy print systems.
