Dutch Government Improves Document and Case Management System with Alfresco

DICTU, one of the Dutch government’s largest IT service implementation organizations, needed to simplify a highly fragmented environment made up of multiple ministries and internal organizations using different proprietary systems. The goal was to standardize case and document management, improve transparency and efficiency, strengthen compliance, and provide a scalable, cost-effective user experience for both government employees and citizens.

DICTU implemented the RijksZaak platform using Alfresco Content Services as the core case and document management solution. With Alfresco, DICTU replaced 20–25 business applications, brought six customers live in the last year, and was working on another ten, with plans to add at least 20 more in the next 24 months. Implementations now take about three to six months instead of two to three years for custom solutions, delivering faster deployment, lower cost, and a single platform that is easier and more efficient to use.
